Purau Bay

Camp Bay, Charteris Bay, Church Bay, Diamond Harbour, Port Levy and Purau Bay, located on beautiful Banks Peninsula, on the South Island of New Zealand, about 45 minutes from the city of Christchurch.

In 1850 the Māori fishing settlement at Purau Bay had only 10 inhabitants. The bay lies on the southern shore of Lyttelton Harbour (first named Port Cooper), across the water from Lyttelton township, though 35 km by road from Christchurch.
